Eko Igba

SILENT NIGHT. (In the rhythm of the Christmas carol)
Silent night in Lagos skies
All is bright, NEPA Light
Round the mainland, Eko and wide
Hustle and bustle in Eko is calm
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace.
At this moment this is the rhythm I have in my mouth walking the streets of Lagos this festive season with the efflux of people who have moved out of the metropolis to see loved ones and for the many part this is one of the largest in recent years. Sufficing to say that the better part of some states capital cities is as scanty as a major part of Lagos not to talk less of the various communities in those states. Would it be inherent to say that Nigeria has been compounded to be made of Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Kano where a whole lot troop into as a result of scarce resources to be shared to the federating units hence the off peak periods during the festive periods and many cases transporters reaping a great deal of return from passengers.
But hey what can I say I am enjoying the peace and I have not slept better in many days expect every other night which will end pretty soon. So I have to enjoy this little time I have before the arrival of the ‘wailing wailers’ and their constituents.

Enjoy.
